rawing has always been the most vital artistic tool for me, whether I am making a print or a painting. I was a printmaker for many years, and I feel my drawings and illustrations reveal that part of my history. Throughout my artistic life, I have been inspired by art historical images- specifically the technical virtuosity of line exhibited in old master prints and paintings. I enjoy a range of techniques in my illustrations, shifting from the raw nature of a woodcut to the fine lines of a pen and ink drawing.
